Travel Buy Recommendations
Check out my travel buy recommendations that make travel easier for me! The items below I either use at home or on the go, to prepare myself for all types of adventure! I give my honest review and only recommend items that I truly love and/or use often.
Travel Gear Recommendations
Travel Backpack
My favorite carry on backpack is the Duchamp London Getaway Expandable Backpack. I’ve used it to travel internationally for months and it fits on various airlines. It also meets personal item dimensions for budget airlines, like Spirit/Frontier and Vueling. I found mine at Marshalls for $40 but here’s a link to it on Amazon and an alternative that is budget friendly.
Travel Packing Cubes
I’ve been using these packing cubes for years, if you haven’t heard of them they are great way to save space. It’s also helpful when you are living out of a backpack for while because it keeps things organized. Most sets come with 6 to 7 pieces. They’re perfect for separating dirty/clean clothes, shoes, underwear, tops, bottoms and more!
Packing Cubes 7 PCS – I like this one because it also comes with two toiletry bags. This is the one I currently use. It was gifted to me 3 years ago and I use it for every trip, domestic or international. I love it but after two years my toiletry bags broke.
Veken 6 Piece Set – Because of that I am also recommending this one. Note I haven’t tried this one out, but this is Amazon’s best seller! It comes with a laundry bag and is made out of a water resistant material.
Hiking Essentials
Water Bottle – This is my favorite plastic water bottle, I’ve ordered it numerous times because I’ve lost it so many times. It has timed markers to remind you when to drink up! The mouth also has a wide opening which makes it easy to clean.
Collapsible Water Bottle – I also found this one that is perfect for hikes, when you don’t want to lug around a large water bottle.
Travel Recommendations for Skin
Body Acne Wash
Traveling can cause stress and you may build up more dirt and sweat on your skin then you would if you were home. One of the most gentle cleansers I’ve come across is the new CeraVe Acne Foaming Cream Cleanser with 4% Benxol Peroxide. This wash is perfect for sensitive and oily skin. It targets the larger painful pimples not the white and black heads. For smaller acne try out the CeraVe Foaming Cleanser with Salicylic Acid. These are both about 12 bucks. They aren’t 3 ounces so I just add them to my mini toiletry containers.
Face Oil
I use this Rose Hip Oil as a moisturizer to improve skin tone and texture. This is my favorite oil to use on my face because its not too heavy and its just one Organic ingredient. Its great for sensitive skin too! Since it only has one ingredient you don’t have to worry about what ingredients may trouble your skin. Its 4 ounces so it will also last a while. It has multiple uses and makes it easy to minimize my skin care routine.
Travel Wear Favorites
When I do shop for my trips I tend to hit up TJMaxx, Marshalls and Target. Here are some of my favorite clothing items, that are comfy, sustainable and affordable.
Weatherproof Wear
The North Face Rain Jacket – Everyone needs a light rain jacket, this is my favorite that I found at TJMaxx. It cost about $50 and has a liner that makes it easy to breathe in humidity. It has kept me dry in many places in the Americas.
Winter Parka – I’ve had this parka for years and its kept me warm in various cold climates. Besides it being comfortable my favorite part is that it comes in at the waist and isn’t bulky. I also purchased this item at TJMaxx for about $200 dollars in 2014. Right now select styles are 25% off on Amazon! Or you can shop directly at The North Face.
Travel Fits
Leggings – One of my most recent purchases is the $7.00 leggings from Target. The wild fable brand doesn’t have the tight elastic which I appreciate for long plane rides.
Adidas Tennis Shoes – The comfiest shoes I’ve traveled with I purchased at Marshalls. The first is the Adidas with the cloud foam sole. I believe I purchased them for about $40, online they are $53. These are great for month long trips since they are comfy and cute. I wear them with just about anything.
Converse Sneakers – Second are my converse, I was skeptical about this brand for a while because I felt their soles were always too hard. However I found these at Marshalls around winter time and they had a soft, cushiony sole and I fell in love. I’ve had them for about three years now and love them. I liked the static grey pattern its not something you see often and it’s easy to match.
