3 Spots to Catch Sunset in Santorini
Catch sunset in Santorini in the most popular city of Oia. Oia is located at the tip of the island, making it the perfect place to see the sun go down. Its important to know its going to be packed just about everywhere you go. You can take it all in at these places below.
The Byzantine Castle Ruins
The first place to catch sunset is very popular. In order to get there walk towards the Byzantine Castle Ruins, you’re literally on the edge of Oia. There are numerous spots to take photos along the castle walls which makes it so popular. You’ll need some patience because there’s lots of people. Even during the pandemic it was packed, I can’t imagine the busy season.
Above Kastro Oia Suites
The next place you’ve probably seen on Instagram. Kastro Oia Suites, is one of the few buildings that isn’t white, which should make it easier to find but the walkways in Oia aren’t the easiest to navigate. Walk to the top of these suites, you’ll pass a restaurant on your right and you’ll reach a ledge where you’ll see many others watching sunset.
A Boat Cruise
Last but not least, a Catamaran Cruise. This was my favorite spot to catch sunset because you aren’t crowded and surrounded by other people. Relax and enjoy sunset on the water without all the chatter. The cruise stopped at 3 different locations, included dinner and sunset views. It was booked through our hotel and on the pricier side at $165. You can find cheaper on tripadvsior.com or getyourguide.com. We booked it last minute which didn’t give us many choices, but with time should be able to find more options.
