How to spend a day in Negril

One day in 📍Negril, Jamaica Itinerary

⏰10:00 AM – Depart from Montego Bay/Leave to Destination

Leave Montego Bay and head to Negril, its about a 2 hour drive. I recommend booking a shuttle instead of renting a car, the traffic is crazy because there is only one main highway and who wants to worry about driving after a long day, right?

💲Cost: We booked our transportation through Airbnb and it was $35 a person roundtrip.

7 Mile Beach, Negril, Jamaica

⏰12:00 PM – Beach Time

Start your day off by relaxing in the pristine clear blue waters of the famous 7 mile beach. I stayed in front of Margaritaville but there are plenty of others restaurants to choose from with beach access.

💲Cost: Tanning chairs are free without an umbrella + whatever food and drinks you order. I spent $51, a cabaña, food and drinks were split by 10 people.

Sunset at Rick’s Cafe

⏰4:15 PM – Dinner

  • Head to the famous Rick’s Cafe to cross off two things:
🌅 First enjoy the sunset; every blog I read said to catch sunset here, no regrets there.
  • 🧗🏻‍♀️Second for my adventure lovers don’t miss Cliff Jumping; I recommend doing this before dinner!

💲Cost: Cliff Jumping is FREE but they have a tip box. Your dinner can range from $30 dollars and up. The cheapest drink is $7 and some entrees are under $20. I split the total of a birthday dinner and paid $60, we all had various priced items from pasta to steak.

#TravelTip Make a reservation for where you plan to stay on the 7 mile beach and Rick’s Cafe!

Disclaimer:

Jump at your own risk, there is a smaller ledge you are required to jump from in order to jump off the highest ledge. The lifeguard recommended to place a foot slightly over the edge with your toes hanging off and then take a step to jump off. This scared me because I felt I was still too close to the ledge and if I were to jump, I thought I would hit the cliff so I took a larger leap. Again, please only jump if you are 1000% sure and if you’ve had experience because there is a high probability of injury.
